More tears and the reason why!

Well I have had a horrible day today. I got into work today and burst into tears so one of my colleagues ran out to the toilets with me and gave me a cuddle.
Basically I have been really upset the last few days and I was not going to say why but feel I should talk about it and then maybe I can move on.

It was December a few years ago and just before christmas when I was walking home from work at 5pm in the evening when I was attacked in the street by a stranger. The guy ran up behind me and tried to sexually assault me luckily there was 2 guys walking down the road and he ran off. Its something I have tried to forget but lately its been coming back to me and even sitting here writing this I can still hear his footsteps running behind me, it makes me shiver! Then I can feel his lunge from behind.

I am always so careful now when walking in the street I am always checking behind me especially when its dark and I am bit paranoid people walking behind me.

The police were brilliant, two male police officers came and they were fabulous and I will always remember how great they were. They made me feel safe and thats why I am a strong believer that the police are the good guys and do a great job.

The thing is women always say 'oh thats ok if a guy attacks me I will just knee him in the privates and run' but I can tell you now its not that easy. For a start I am only 5ft 3in and I am not big built, this guy was taller than me and stronger a lot stronger than me.
I just froze and I tried to scream but it would not come out straight away.

I am telling this story as a warning as now the nights are drawing in please be careful.

I was offered victim support counselling at the time but never took it up and I now look back and think maybe I should have.

On a brighter note I popped into town today on my lunch hour and brought two dresses, one from Peacocks and the other was in the sale at New Look. I shall blog about these at the weekend as at the moment I don't feel up to it.

I am going to Swindon on Saturday to see a friend and go shopping.

I think I am going to have an early night tonight.

Roll on the weekend
Take care girls

I want to get married again...

just so I can wear this dress!

Its by Maggie Sottero and I just think its stunning.

We got married 7 years ago and I had a Maggie Sottero dress which had a corset built inside so it really pulls you in. It had diamantes on (but not too much in a chavvy way lol), it was bright white and I had a full length veil which had sparkle on and a scalloped edging..it was stunning.
My photos were not digital though unfortunately and I need a scanner to get them uploaded.

I love weddings and have always wanted to own a wedding dress shop thats one of my dreams.

While we are on the subject of dresses I saw this photo of Holly Willoughby the other day and I really want her dress, would anyone know where its from by any chance?

I'm back from my travels with some bargains!

Hello I'm back

We had a great time in Blackpool although the weather was atrocious. I hated coming home as I had to say goodbye to my family and it was very sad. I miss my neices growing up they are 16 and 14 and it was so nice to see them. Apparently the 14 year old really looks up to me and thinks I dress so well. They are both lovely girls and I miss them so much and I miss my sister.

I brought some new clothes and got some great bargains

In Primark I brought the following:

Primark Vintage cream dress - its looks really expensive up close and I love the way it fits on the waist and then it flares out. They had it in teal and black too and I wish I had also got the teal one.

These grey shoes were £4.00 in the sale (they only had sizes 3 and 4 left and luckily I have small feet)

Cream woolly hat.

And these tights in New Look (I am not sure if I am too old for patterned tights lol) but I love the colour and pattern

I know people say Primark is poor quality and I agree some of it is but there are some great items that look good quality especially considering the prices. They have some lovely knitwear at the moment too.

I got this coat which is from the Debenhams Petite Collecton. It fits really well.
I love cream coats as I think they look so classy and look nice with dark hair.

Blackpool illuminations here we come!

Hubby and I are off to Blackpool tomorrow to see my parents and my sister and her family.

The illuminations are on now so we will be doing a tour of these.
I will try to remember to take loads of photos too.
Mike's parents are going to be living at our house for a few days to look after little Thomas, I miss him so much when we go away but he is in good hands.

I popped out today to get some last minute toiletries and brought some of this Baptiste Dry Shampoo, its on offer at the moment in Superdrug for 99p. They have a few to choose from but I brought the pink one in the middle called Blush. It smells lovely and really refreshes your hair.

Anyway have a lovely weekend fellow bloggers.

Received my 1st Boohoo order and you know what...

I think its a good quality for the price!

I didn't think I would say that but I would say the dresses I ordered are as good as New Look but maybe a bit cheaper. I think they are a lot better than some of Primark's dresses.

The bunny print one is lovely I could do with it being a tad smaller around the hips but I could alter it myself. Whats your honest opinions do you think it makes my hips look bigger as I am not really big hipped? The floral one is gorgeous but it does not really suit me so I am sending it back.

I think it would look great with red shoes

This was taken after I altered it with safety pins. I need to do it properly though!

Do you think it looks better before altered or after?

A close up of the print..its so cute!

I had heard a lot of negative things about them but I am quite impressed.

What do you think of Boohoo?

A couple of purchases!

Hello fellow bloggers

Thanks so much for all your replies regarding the bow dress I have decided to keep it and will wear it with leggings.

Yesterday I took the pink bag back to primark from my previous post and as I sold a couple of things on ebay recently I brought 3 items using paypal funds so thats not really like using actual money is it....?

Navy and cream embroidered dress

This is pretty and it looks lovely with jeggings or worn alone.

Cream Cardigan

Cream Butterfly bangle - which I think looks much more expensive than Primark.

I am so looking forward to receiving my Boohoo order I really love that bunny dress.

One more week in work and me and OH have a week off, not sure what we are doing yet but I hope the weather stays like this its so warm and sunny.

On my way into town yesterday I was chatted up by a builder (those builders eh always chatting up the women) and then a guy in the street said I had a lovely smile! There must have been something in the air!
On my way back from town I saw said builder again who smiled and waved at me, I waved back rather embarassingly...aww sweet!

When I got home I knew something was wrong with Thomas he wasn't his usual self and when he got up I noticed he was limping. I have taken a look at his paw and it looks like he has been in a fight and has a nasty cut. I popped out to Sainsburys and brought him some cooked chicken from the deli counter...he is so spoilt.
I think he will be going to the vets next week.

My 1st order from Boohoo!

Well I have made my 1st order from Boohoo!

I always look on their website and see things I like but was not sure about the quality. It is cheap and I have heard that they have some good and bad items, a bit like Primark.

I ordered:

Bunny Print Dress

I fell in love with this dress ages ago when it was full price of £20.00 but I noticed its now in the sale for £8.00 so therefore I just had to get it.

Floral Prom Dress
This was reduced to £12.00, not 100% sure on this as not sure if it will suit me.

I hope the bunny print one fits well as I love the cute print and the embroidery.

A age old question?

Sorry I know this is an unusual post but I would really appreciate my lovely fellow bloggers opinions!

I brought this dress a while back and now I am wondering if I would look too old in it!

I am now ahem....36 and was thinking do you think it would look ok with black leggings/black opaques and boots/ballet flats??

Do you think I woud look ridiculous or do you think I could get away with it.

I have always been a stong believer in age means nothing and as long as you don't look like you are 36 trying to look 20 I think its ok to wear what you like within reason.

What are your opinions???
And how could I wear the dress without looking:

A - tarty
B- mutton dresses as lamb

Or should I sell the dress/take it back after all it was only from Primark and was not expensive??

Day 13 - A Fictional Book

I recently read No Time For Goodbye by Linwood Barclay and this was so gripping that once I started reading it I could not put it down.

On the morning she will never forget, suburban teenager Cynthia Archer awakes with a nasty hangover and a feeling she is going to have an even nastier confrontation with her mom and dad. But when she leaves her bedroom, she discovers the house is empty, with no sign of her parents or younger brother Todd. In the blink of an eye, without any explanation, her family has simply disappeared. Twenty-five years later Cynthia is still haunted by unanswered questions. Were her family murdered? If so, why was she spared? And if they're alive, why did they abandon her in such a cruel way? Now married with a daughter of her own, Cynthia fears that her new family will be taken from her just as her first one was. And so she agrees to take part in a TV documentary revisiting the case, in the hope that somebody somewhere will remember something - or even that her father, mother or brother might finally reach out to her...Then a letter arrives which makes no sense and yet chills Cynthia to the core. And soon she begins to realise that stirring up the past could be the worst mistake she has ever made

I have just purchased another of his books 'Fear The Worst', I have not started reading it yet but I have only read good reviews about it.

He also has another book due for release tomorrow which also looks good!
