Butterfly Award & Tag

Sorry I was given this award by a while ago by the lovely Jo of http://plymouthbarbie.blogspot.com/
but I never got around to doing it.

Thanks so much for the award Jo x

Rules are simple: Link it back to the one who sent it to you and then pass it on to 8 people. Also, I have to write 15 random things about yourself.

1) I am a shopaholic

2) I am currently unemployed but looking for a job

3) I love all animals but I have a real affinity with elephants and dolphins. I am always on the lookout for elephant artefacts for the home.

4) Mike and I have been married 8 years next week.

5) I once lived in a hotel as my parents owned a hotel.

6) We had two fires at the hotel and one where we nearly all could have died.  It was late in the evening and the dog kept looking up the stairs and barking.  My dad went to investigate, something he would not have done if Sabre had not been barking, he then smelt burning.  We called the fire brigade and it was dealt with but if we had all gone to bed and left it then the fire officer said we probably would have been killed unless the smoke alarms has woken us.

7) I used to be a massive Girls Aloud fan and Kimberly was always and still is my favourite in that band. I am not so much of a fan now.

8) I met Mike when I was 10 and he was 14 as our mums knew each other. I moved 300 odd miles away a few years after our first meeting and then we met again out of the blue when I happened to move back to Bristol and got a job where he worked.  I was 22 and he was 26.  Neither of us actually knew at that time that we had met before and that our mums knew each other...how weird! I do think we were met to be together although we have had our ups and downs.

9) I had a sister called Jane who died at 10 days old of cot death...I often think of her, she would have been 45 now.

10) I never wear trousers I actually have only 2 pairs of trousers.

11) I never wear trainers except for the gym.

12) I love hair slides and I actually have so many its impossible to wear them all. Maybe I should wear a different hair slide/hairband each day and actually wear them all!

13) I did ballet, tap and modern dancing when I was young. I was also in a dance troupe when I was a kid and used to enter competitions.

14) I have under active thyroid for about 5 years now and will be on medication for the rest of my life.  I had a scan recently and was told my thyroid has shrunk and basically no longer functions! eek

15) I love anything pretty and girly (as if you could not guess)!

Twit twoo!

I bought a little something in the Topshop sale today, these cute little earrings.

I have been eyeing them up for a while but I did not want to buy them at full price.  I happened to be go in Topshop as I met a friend of mine for lunch and I was lucky enough to get them for half price.  They were the only pair left...such cuteness!

Plus I also had a £20 gift card for La Senza which I got given last christmas and as the sales were on I purchased these two bras. Total cost £21.50.

I also purchased this Kelly Brook swimsuit from New Look which I had 20% off with the voucher in the News of the World Buzz magazine.  Usually I always wear bikinis but this is a really gorgeous swimsuit and makes a change.

Have you been sale shopping?

OOTD & my weekend

Hello everyone

Hope you all had a fab weekend.

I had a great weekend, I went to Swindon on Saturday to stay with a friend, we spent saturday shopping and having lunch.  We went back to her house after and we did each others hair and then she cooked us Quorn Spaghetti Bolognese it was lovely and we had New York cheesecake for dessert. I had never had that before, its really delicious.

We then met up with my friends friends, they were great girls we had such a laugh.
We went out to a few bars did a bit of dancing....it was a brilliant night.

Sunday my friend made us a cooked breakfast with croissants...yum yum. I have eaten so much and we are going on holiday in 2 weeks so much for the bikini diet!

My friend is going to email me the photos as I did not take my camera on the night out. I will post some photos when I get them.

These are my buys from the weekend.  I did not actually spend much as I took back a dress and the New Look cardigan I recently bought as I decided it did not really suit me. I am terrible for buying things and going off them before even wearing them!

Dorothy Perkins

Nude pumps

H&M

Frill vest

Hair slides ( I love these sooo much)

Primark (of course)

Bow bag - Love this bag for my holiday

Black pumps

I have an interview on Friday for a job in the NHS which is the area I want to get into so I am a bit nervous about it....but fingers crossed!

The Doll & Frog

no thats not the name of our local pub but the name of a clothing range at Dorothy Perkins.

As you may be aware Dorothy Perkins have their sale on at the moment and with Closer magazine you could get 25% off which ended yesterday.

I sold a few things on ebay recently and I took a couple of items back so I decided to order a couple of dresses which arrived today.

Lemon Ditsy Bow Back Dress - this dress is gorgeous with little butterflies on. Even though its lemon you could wear it anytime of the year just add a cardi and tights. It looks lovely worn and I will do an outfit post with this sometime soon.

Multi Floral Blouse dress

People often think I spend a lot of money on clothes and I suppose I do shop a lot but I do not actually spend that much as I usually buy things in the sale.  These two dresses were both originally £28.00 and even though I love them I would never have bought them at those prices! With  the discount they cost £7.50 each.

Thats another reason why I rarely shop in places like Topshop because to me its so over priced, I do buy the occasional thing in there if I really love it but I just cannot justify spending £65.00 on a dress unless it was for a special occasion of course.

I love H&M, New Look and Primark because they are more reasonably priced, however, when we are in Tenerife I will be going to Mango and Zara as its so much cheaper over there and I love these two stores.

This weekend Mike is going to Newcastle for his brothers stag do and so I decided I would go to my friends in Swindon for the weekend.

We are meeting up on Saturday morning and spending the day shopping and having lunch then in the evening we going out with some other friends to a few bars. I am quite looking forward to it is I have not been on a girlie night out in ages.

I am getting the train back on Sunday afternoon.
Have a nice weekend everyone

The winner takes it all!

Last week I received my giveaway prizes from the lovely Sadie of http://www.brandnewbutterflywings.com/

I had this book which I am so looking forward to reading on holiday

Fearne at Boots lip liner, lipstick, lip gloss and eyeshadow

I do love the colour but its more of an evening lipstick for me as I tend to wear nude lipstick or pale pink in the day as I wear quite dark eye make up.  I am going out Saturday night with a friend so I may wear this for a change!
Excuse the dodgy dressing gown and my eye make up is not fully done!  I always blink at the flash so I did not look directly at the camera, I must have sensitive eyes.

Also there was a No17 glitter eyeliner, Nair removal strips for face which I am going to try on my eyebrows and Soap and Glory Catch a Wrinkle day moisturiser which is lush it smells like lemon meringue to me...lovely!   Oops I also forgot the Body Shop coconut body butter I don't know why I forgot this when I love these!

I was actually offered a job last week and it was quite well paid and local to home but I declined it! The thing is I do really need a job BUT I knew I would not be happy there. The job was in the middle of nowwhere, it was just a small office with about 5 people and a toilet. The job seemed good but it was really long hours.  Maybe I am mad to turn a job down when so people are looking for work, but a while back I suffered with terrible depression and anxiety from being unhappy in work so I don't want to end up like that again.

I have my interview with House of Fraser tomorrow.  Mike thinks the job is beneath me as I have been used to a good salary and more responsibility (no offence to anyone that works in a shop) but I feel it may be good for me just as a starting point to get back into work gradually.  I am in no way ambitious and money means nothing really, I would rather be happy.

Clothes haul and an interview!

Hello lovelies

Sorry about my post the other day I just felt I wanted to talk and writing it in the blog somehow makes me feel a bit better, thankyou for listening to my rant and for your words of advice.

Well I received the ASOS bag and was very disappointed. The bag was a lot smaller than it looks on the website and the material and pattern is not as nice as the photo.  I could get the same in Primark/Matalan for a lot less, needless to say this has been returned.

Today I bought a camera, I opted for the Kodak Easyshare as it seems quite a good camera and not too expensive.  I have used my old camera for these photos as my new camera is on charge. My old one does work but the screen is smashed so you cannot actually see what you are taking a photo of but the photo is there...if that makes sense.
As I said before I went shopping the other day and bought a few little items....here is my haul.

♥ New Look ♥

Longline Ditsy shirt - I love the print. It actually looks a lot nicer on as its very flattering.

Pointelle cardigan (used the website image as I could not get a good photo of this) I love it worn with a little belt.

♥ H&M ♥

Tan boots (£10 in the sale) these look a bit cheap in the photo but do actually look a lot nicer in reality.

Black dress - this photo honestly does not do this dress any favours. This is like one of those stretchy ponte dresses that hugs you in all the right places and then flares out. I really love it, its especially great if you are having a fat day as it makes you look and feel really slim. I wish they had these in more colours as it was only £12.99.

♥ Primark ♥

Rose print bow belt (this goes with a few of my floaty dresses) and hair slides

Tan pumps

I have an interview next week for House of Fraser. I have always worked in offices so this is a bit of a change for me plus it won't pay as well as I was being paid in my old job but I am not worried about the money. I prefer to be happy in my job than have a good salary.   I am unsure of the hours as yet as they have various shifts available.
I have a question what should you wear to the interview?
As I said as I have always worked in offices I would usually wear a pencil skirt, blouse/shirt and high heels but I wondered if I could wear a dress and heels?  What do you think?

Bargain of the week.

Another bargain of the week!

I tried this dress on a while ago in Republic and it looked really nice but I did not want to pay the price it was.  I just happened to go to the Republic website and they had one left which happened to be in my size.  It cost me £5.00 ha ha.  Its an oyster pink colour and I love the detailed waist.

Do you ever get bargains online?

Lately......

I am really fed up!

I feel like I am going nowhere in life and want a change.

I want a job but I don't know what I want to do and feel I am too old to make changes.

I was recently made redundant so is not like at the moment I need a job straight away but I want to get one soon.

I would love to work for a charity either animal charity or Women's Aid I just want to make a difference not be in a boring job running reports and dealing with financial figures....aka my old job!

Also things are ok between Mike and I but I still feel the loneliness.  We have talked but I honestly wonder if things will change, I am just so unsure what to do for the best.  I also wonder if I should have had a child as I feel there is something missing from my life and I have never felt that before.  Its really upsetting to talk about but I feel like I am existing and not living!

The other problem is I don't have many friends.  I do have two very close friends, one of them is 8 years older than me but she is really young at heart but she lives the other side of the city and my closest friend is 8 years younger and lives in Swindon so its not like I see her as much  as I would like to.  Plus I have no family where I live except my husband....what a saddo I am.
I am a really friendly person so its not like I don't make friends easily but I am really picky and only like friends I really trust.

Anyway thats my moan for today...sorry to be so self centred but I had to get that off my chest...now breathe!

Anyway onto nicer things I just want to say a big thankyou to Sadie of http://www.brandnewbutterflywings.com/
I received the giveaway prizes and they are lovely I will blog about this in the next few days but I need to get a camera.

I went out shopping today and picked a few things up from H&M, New Look and Primark but as I have no camera I cannot show you the photos.

I am definifely getting a camera on Saturday so will post about these items then!

Small ASOS Order

Hello

ASOS have finally got the floral satchel bag back in stock so I ordered it today.  This is the bag I have wanted for a while.  I recently sold some things on ebay so therefore used some of my paypal funds so its not like spending actual money...or so I tell myself anyway!

ASOS Floral Metal Keeper Detail Satchel

I also ordered these because don't they look cute plus they will smell lush. Ideal for my handbag and they were in the sale.

Cupcake & Ice Cream Mini Wet Wipes

I am going into town tomorrow to see if I can get my camera fixed and if it cannot be fixed will probably be buying a new one!

Hope your week is going ok.

Our weekend

Hello everyone

We had a nice weekend away it was just so good to get away and relax.

My camera is well and truly broken so therefore I could not get any photos in Torquay which was rather annoying. I am going to take it in somewhere tomorrow to see if I can fix it and if not it will be a case of buying a new camera.  Does anyone know the best place to buy one I don't want one thats mega expensive.

On Friday the weather was ok, we got down to Torquay at about 12ish and then spent a few hours just wandering around the harbour and having lunch.  Then on Friday night we had a lovely meal and happened to be ordering drinks in a bar when we bumped into one of Mike's friends and his wife. Neither had mentioned they were going away so it was a total surprise to see them, We ended up spending the night having a few drinks with them...what a small world we live in!

On Saturday we wandered into town had a look around a few shops. I love looking in the tacky souvenir shops as you always find little things that make you laugh.  We are having a new porch in a couple of weeks and new front door I know that does not sound exciting but it is for us as its going to make the house look fantastic.  We had a look in TK Maxx somewhere I don't tend to go in much but they do have some gorgeous items.  We bought a rather large and rather fabulous vase to put in the round window inside the porch and we also bought another tall vase with floral arrangement to also put in the porch.  TK Maxx has soe lovely items for the home.

We then walked further along the harbour and sat outside one of the pavement cafes with a drink just watching the boats coming in and out and watching the seagulls trying to pinch food from people ha ha.

We then had a game of crazy golf  and went back to the hotel for a couple of hours in the swimming pool which was lovely.  Later we had a 4 course dinner and had a few more drinks.

On Sunday the weather was just terrible so we left early to come back.

So its back to normality now and back to tiresome job hunting.  Oh how I hate all this job hunting mallarcky! Still its only 4 weeks till we go to Tenerife so something else to look forward to.

Sunday evening we has a takeaway curry from our lovely friendly local chinese.
I think I will be back on the diet regime now as to be honest I have ate enough food to feed a small country in the last 3 days!

When I got back to blogland I found out I won Sadie's giveaway here http://www.brandnewbutterflywings.com/2011/05/giveaway.html

Thankyou Sadie so looking forward to receiving the goodies I was going to buy that Katie Piper book the other day so glad I didn't now.  Looking forward to reading this.

Hope you all had a nice weekend and sorry about the lack of photos.

Devon delights!

Hello everyone

Just a quick post to say goodbye for a couple of days as hubby and I are off to Devon for the weekend.  We don't get away that much really as hubby does not get much holiday and works long hours!

Last night was spent packing, I always pack too much I look like I am going for 5 days never mind 2 nights.  The thing is I like to have a few extra items in case I change my mind and want to wear something else.  I also fake tanned and painted my nails with my new Accessorize nail polish in Apricot Crush. This is with 2 coats and with the flash. I love this colour.  As you can see I am yet to shower off the excess fake tan ha ha.

I have packed my toiletries into this Cath Kidsonesque vanity bag which was two whole pounds from Primarni.   I would love an actual Cath Kidston bag.

We are staying in a nice hotel where hopefully we will be eating nice food and having a relaxing time.  They also have a gorgeous indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi  ( I cannot actually swim but Mike can, I take my bikini and sit by the pool.)  Mike says that I sit by the pool looking pretty but I just so wish I could swim.  I have thought about taking lessons but I am terrified of water.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone.

Outfit of the day - In the Nude

Don't worry I am not actually in the nude ha ha

I don't know what has happened to this photo but my legs look like I have shadows on them and I don't know why...they don't actually look like this in reality....weird!

Dress - H&M
Cardigan - H&M
Belt - New Look
Pumps - Primark

Gosh my hair looks a total mess!
Do you think this belt looks ok with this dress?

I tried it with a darker belt but I think its too dark and better with something lighter.

Keep or Return? Topshop shoes!

I ordered these shoes from Topshop and I really love them the quality is fab and I love the colour and the heel height.  They are only 2.5 inches and they go with just about everything in my wardrobe so I bet you are wondering why I should keep or return??? Well they were £46.00 eek which to me is a lot of money to spend on shoes, yeah ok I would spend that sort of money on boots or shoes that were for a special occasions ie weddings but not just everyday shoes!

Also I am really heavy on shoes I mean I wear them down really easily as I tend to walk on one side!  What do you think?

Bargain of the week!

Today I had to go an appointment and happened to need the loo so I popped into M&S.  On the way out I noticed crowds of people gathering and wondered what was going on.  I happened to look over and noticed they were selling their shoes and boots for £3.00!  Most of the shoes were modern and young styles.

People were pushing and shoving each other to get to them which was a bit OTT and I did not have enough hands to carry too many but I picked these up in a 4 and a half. I take a 4 or 5 so these fit perfect.  They were originally £35.00 and are really good quality.

When I got to the till loads of women had these boots ha ha and one woman had a basket full of shoes in all different styles and colours!

Unfortunately there were another couple of brown boots and shoes which I would have liked but they only had size 3's and size 7's!

The sales assistants kept bringing more out so people were waiting around for more and as soon as the assistant came out she was mobbed.

Just goes to show the lengths people will go to for a bargain.

I am happy with my purchase though they are not the sort of boots I usually wear but they will be great in autumn/winter with opaques and dresses.

OOTD plus last weeks H&M buys

Last week I went into town and met my friend for lunch we went to our favourite little italian.

I had a little looksie in H&M I am a bit obsessed with this shop at the moment.

I purchased this gorgeous peach sheer dress, I ♥ the floatiness of it and the little sleeves and ruffe hem.

Navy blue stripe vest top (this is really long so could be worn with leggings)

In Primark I bought this little summer dress they also had them in peach.

This is my outfit for today its not boiling here so I put a card with it.
The whole outfit is from Primark...yikes!
I am not sure if this dress is very flattering though as its quite big but I will keep it to wear on holiday over my bikini.
It was only a fiver and I think the print is very pretty.

I also bought one of those nude slips to wear under sheer dresses they are really good and you cannot see through them and it was only £6.00.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone

Take a bow!

Hello lovelies

Last week I won this New Look navy blue bow print dress on ebay. I love bows they are so girly and I adore this dress.

Also I received the Missguided lace dress and I really like it.

I will do an outfit post with this sometime next week it looks lovely with my new nude heels from my previous post.  I also received the New Look tan cowboy boots and they are definitely a keeper too, they are such good quality.
I was going to do an outfit post today but my camera is playing up again!

I had a little mini H&M spree last week and bought a summer dress in Primark I have not got around to blogging about these but will do soon.
